London, Greater London, United Kingdom Motability Operations Full time
About The Role
The automotive sector is experiencing unprecedented transformation as trends such as electrification, connectivity, and the agency model reshape the landscape. As the UK's largest car fleet operator with approximately 670,000 vehicles, it is essential for Motability Operations to comprehend how these trends will influence our fleet.

We are seeking an Analyst to join our Residual Value & Pricing team, playing a pivotal role in evaluating how these developments will alter the UK's new and used vehicle markets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand the implications of shifts in the broader economic and automotive environment on new and used vehicle market dynamics and the associated risks for the UK's largest car fleet.
  • Build relationships with car manufacturers, retailers, vehicle converters, and industry contacts by participating in vehicle launch events and automotive conferences.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on future product and technological advancements in the industry, articulating how trends such as electrification, connected vehicles, and the agency model will affect residual value risks.
  • Utilize this expertise to generate vehicle-level residual values and maintenance budgets for our fleet on a quarterly basis.
  • Employ our suite of analytical tools to create reports and extract concise, data-driven insights for senior stakeholders regarding key industry trends.
  • Facilitate cross-functional forums and internal governance meetings, effectively communicating the factors driving market developments to broader business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with key business units, including Analytics, Pricing, VRM, Manufacturer Relations, and Conversions & Adaptations teams, to develop and disseminate critical insights as the market evolves rapidly.
  • Leverage your technical skills to maintain and enhance the forecasting processes and market insights within the Asset Risk team.

About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A deep understanding of how data can be leveraged to address complex business challenges.
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to apply analytical techniques to devise practical solutions in a dynamic business environment.
  • A collaborative spirit to work with team members in developing clear solutions to intricate problems.
  • The technical proficiency and confidence to challenge the status quo, aiming to continuously improve our forecasting methodologies and departmental strategies.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, constructing clear and coherent arguments on complex issues.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects with various stakeholders and deadlines.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience in an analytically driven commercial setting.
  • Strong analytical, data visualization, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence others.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Comfort in transforming complex data into easily digestible insights.
  • A significant interest in the automotive industry and vehicles.
  • A valid UK driving license.

Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in producing forecasts.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Oracle Analytics).
  • Experience with Snowflake or SQL.
  • Proficiency in Python.
