Role Overview
The Business Operations team is responsible for managing both the daily and strategic functions of the Directorate. They act as a bridge between various Grow London Local teams and other internal departments, including CRM, Marketing, Finance, HR, and Insights. Key responsibilities include budget oversight, strategic planning, governance, performance analysis, and compliance management. The Operations Manager collaborates with the Head of Small Business Operations to design, implement, and sustain operational frameworks for the Small Business Directorate. This role involves creating processes and systems that ensure effective financial management, governance, strategic planning, reporting, and compliance, all crucial for supporting London's entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Key Responsibilities
Monitoring & Reporting
  • Collaborate with the Head of Operations to develop and maintain reporting systems that effectively convey research insights, KPIs, and daily operational metrics to internal stakeholders, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
  • Systematically collect, analyze, and present accurate and timely performance data along with insightful recommendations to the Grow London Local Senior Leadership Team.
  • Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of data utilized for both internal and external reporting.
  • Prepare compliance reports for external funders, ensuring the inclusion of precise information regarding outputs and outcomes as necessary.
Financial Oversight
  • Utilize corporate data to create and maintain financial management tools, including budget trackers and forecasting documents, to support effective planning and decision-making.
  • Analyze financial reports to identify trends that inform budget allocation decisions.
  • Draft compliance reports for external funders, ensuring accurate information regarding expenditures, forecasts, and variances.
Governance
  • Identify, compile, and report on directorate risks and issues as appropriate, leading the resolution of issues as they arise.
  • Establish and implement robust governance processes in areas such as decision-making, change control, and post-project reviews.
  • Develop clear documentation workflows and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance collaboration and streamline operations within the Directorate and with other internal stakeholders.
  • Engage in additional operational and program management tasks as required by the Small Business Operations team.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proficient IT skills, including expertise in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Dynamics, and Office 365) and advanced MS Excel capabilities.
  • Experience with Power BI and CRM systems, such as Salesforce, is desirable.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage a heavy workload effectively while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Motivated, well-organized, and reliable.
  • High standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience in project management and driving initiatives forward.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative and working flexibly.
