Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director in the day-to-day management of the nursery, including overseeing staff, resources, and activities.
  • Support the Director in recruiting, training, and supervising nursery staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional care and education.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback to team members, helping them to develop and grow in their roles.
  • Facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for staff, enabling them to enhance their skills and knowledge and provide the best possible care for our children.

Curriculum Planning and Implementation:

  • Work closely with the Director to develop and implement a stimulating and age-appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of all children, ensuring they receive a high-quality education and care.
  • Ensure that planning, observation, and assessment processes are effectively carried out in line with regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Uphold and promote high standards of health, safety, and hygiene throughout the nursery, creating a safe and healthy environment for children, staff, and visitors.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate measures to maintain a safe environment, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents/carers, involving them in their child's learning and development, and communicating effectively with external agencies as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
  • Hourly rate for probationary period.
