Job Description

Deputy Head of Policy and Public Affairs Lead:

This is a challenging role requiring a strong leader who can inspire and motivate a team to deliver impactful policy and research.

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior civil servants, regulators, MPs and think tanks.
  • Represent the organisation at external events and forums.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation.
  • Ensure the team's policy positions and influencing strategies are evidence-based and impactful.
  • Provide support, guidance and challenge to ensure the team delivers and launches cutting-edge policy and research.
  • Deputise senior colleagues, including the CEO as appropriate.
  • Ensure all policy activities align with the organisation's mission and values.

The Ideal Candidate

Deputy Head of Policy and Public Affairs Lead:

The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience in a leadership position in policy or public affairs.

  • Proven track record of delivering high-impact policy and research.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and respond to deadlines.
  • Outstanding knowledge of Westminster and Whitehall.
