Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical services to patients with serious mental illnesses.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
- Participate in the on-call consultant rota and provide emergency cover as required.
- Engage in teaching and training of junior staff and contribute to the development of the next generation of mental health professionals.
- Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and licensed to practice.
- On the Specialist Register with the GMC as a specialist in psychiatry or eligible for CCT within 6 months of the date of interview.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team and ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and cope with competing demands.
- Primary CCT or an endorsement in CAMHS or General Adult Psychiatry.
- Further relevant degree or diploma.
- Teaching qualification or higher qualification in medical education.
- Experience of research in psychiatry.
- Experience of psychological therapy.
