About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Adult Psychiatrist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with mental health disorders, leading a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of our mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in adult psychiatry, overseeing the management of inpatients and developing care and treatment plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care and improve service outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of our mental health services, including the creation of new inpatient services and the interface with community teams.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, service efficiency, and staff engagement.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and research projects to enhance our mental health services.
Requirements
  • Be medically qualified, MRC Psych or equivalent, with a strong background in adult psychiatry.
  • Have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Be innovative and imaginative, with the ability to initiate service improvements and develop new ideas.
  • Have a strong understanding of current developments in psychiatry and other aspects of mental health, including legislation, policy, and best practices.
  • Be able to work flexibly and adapt to competing demands, with a driving license and ability to travel between sites.
