About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with mental health disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in adult psychiatry, overseeing the management of inpatients and developing care and treatment plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care and improve service outcomes.
  • Develop and implement service improvement initiatives, including the development of new inpatient services and the interface with community teams.
  • Contribute to the development of the service's strategic outline case and business case, ensuring alignment with Welsh Government priorities.
  • Provide teaching and training to postgraduate medical staff, promoting excellence in clinical practice and education.
Requirements
  • Be medically qualified, with a strong background in adult psychiatry and experience in a similar role.
  • Have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Be innovative and imaginative, with a track record of service improvement and development.
  • Have a strong understanding of current developments in psychiatry and mental health, including legislation and policy.
