About the Role

The Regional Rare Disease Lead represents UCB in the communities we serve, striving to transform the lives of those living with Rare Diseases. This role plays an integral part in identifying and building collaborative relationships with healthcare professional stakeholders, executing commercial strategies built on a solid scientific foundation, and enabling access for all rare patients we can serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consistently operates with the highest level of ethics and integrity, serving rare disease patients and adhering to local requirements.
  • Externally focused, creating value for patients based on insights and maintaining an in-depth understanding of assigned territory in terms of stakeholder needs, patient pathways, and ecosystem collaborations.
  • Executes strategic business/accounts plans, including the network/regional patient journey, reflecting a thorough understanding of territory stakeholders involved in patient pathways.
  • Delivers and communicates balanced information on new therapies in rare disease areas.
  • Masters targeted disease states, including a deep understanding of patient journeys, standards of care, treatment drivers, clinical data (efficacy & safety) on UCB products and competitors.
  • Advocates for Rare Disease patients and serves as the authority on the various tools and resources UCB offers to support physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • High levels of curiosity to understand 'the why' and timely execution towards serving rare disease patients.
  • External impact-focused and solution-oriented agile team player.
  • Several years of field-based experience in sales, account management in biopharmaceuticals (research-driven) within a competitive specialty market segment, ideally with a strong neurology and rare disease focus.
  • Experience/involvement in successful product launches.
  • Demonstrated ability to maximize the impact of multichannel/digital tools and strategy/tactics with territory healthcare professionals that drive impactful results.
  • Command of key medical, scientific, and healthcare concepts, data analysis, language, and practices related to neurology and rare diseases.
