Administrative Officer Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and dedicated Administrative Officer to join our permanent staff team at a GOOD primary school in Reading. This full-time position requires a reliable individual who can commit to fixed working hours of 7:45 am to 3:45 pm, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Front Office Management: Manage the school's front office, including answering calls, greeting visitors, and handling inquiries.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the headteacher, senior leadership team, and teaching staff.
  • Student Records: Maintain accurate student records, attendance registers, and other school documentation.
  • Meetings and Communications: Coordinate meetings, prepare correspondence, and manage school communications.
  • Events and Activities: Assist with the administration of school events, trips, and activities.
  • Office Supplies: Manage and order office supplies and maintain an organized office environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment, proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and school management software.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, approachable, friendly, and professional demeanor, ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
