About the Role

We're currently seeking a Digital Creative Lead (maternity cover for 12 months) to join our team in Maidenhead. As a key member of our design studio, you'll be responsible for developing visually compelling designs that align with our project objectives and brand guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create engaging product visuals, e-commerce assets, social media assets, email marketing materials, and digital advertising content.
  • Lead the development and execution of creative concepts for various digital and e-commerce campaigns.
  • Take leadership of assigned design projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project deadlines.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in digital design to continually enhance design skills and provide innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with strategic design leads to maintain a cohesive and unified visual brand identity across all touchpoints.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide creative input for new design ideas and concepts.
  • Mentor designers in the design studio and help raise standards in design quality and working practice.
  • Follow VBL Guidelines and create brand templates.
  • Establish external design talent/relationships for specialist or ad-hoc design requirements.
  • Embed design collaboration to create a strong 'Design Tribe' within Karo.

Requirements

  • Showcase a portfolio with an exceptional understanding of design principles and expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of typography, colour theory, and layout composition.
  • Ability to use video editing skills to enhance digital content and create engaging multimedia experiences.
  • Work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment and take direction effectively.
  • Manage time excellently and have organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Pay strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality design.
  • Communicate effectively to present and articulate design concepts and ideas.
  • Possess a degree in graphic design or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Highly ambitious, with a proactive, problem-solving attitude towards business opportunities and challenges.
  • Outcomes focused versus over-reliance on process.
  • High level of change and learning agility, coupled with a desire for continuous learning and development.
