We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Evolve Housing + Support. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred support to vulnerable young people in our supported housing service in Croydon.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and support customers' strengths and needs, and develop plans to achieve their goals and aspirations.
- Provide opportunities for customers to engage in activities that promote confidence and aspiration.
- Actively promote customer involvement and co-production, and ensure that customers are empowered to make informed decisions about their lives.
- Establish and maintain supportive relationships with customers, and provide emotional support and guidance as needed.
- Liaise with external partners to access appropriate statutory and voluntary services, and ensure that customers receive the support they need to achieve their goals.
- Support customers to identify positive move-on options and live more independent lives.
- Ensure that customers have access to fair and equitable services, and that their rights and responsibilities are respected.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and practices, and the ability to apply them in a day-to-day work setting.
- Understanding of the reasons why people become homeless, and the needs and challenges they face.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, and to be available on a pre-planned rolling rota.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build relationships with customers, colleagues, and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
