Metro is seeking a highly skilled and experienced social video professional to join our London team as Assistant Head of Social Video. As a key member of our social video team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our social video content and strategy.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of social video journalists across multiple verticals to produce engaging, creative, and journalistically strong videos that tap into algorithms and deliver strong numbers.
- Be across trending stories, conversations, and videos online, leading a daily team meeting to discuss and plan content.
- Help the Head and Deputy Head of Social Video in the development of new formats and execution of strategy.
- Understand legal covenants such as the UK Editors' Code of Practice, media law, copyright law, and editorial guidelines in the UK and globally.
- Work with editorial teams to ensure video output aligns with the overall strategy of the business.
- Liaise with departments across the business, when necessary, to ensure the social video team has everything it needs.
- Help to build a strong voice across our video output.
- Strong experience in creating engaging and social-first video content.
- Deep knowledge of how TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube operate.
- Technical proficiency in multimedia technology, including Adobe Creative Suite, with a strong understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Experience filming in a studio and on location using cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.
- Out-of-hours and weekend availability, with a high level of adaptability.
