We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer in Test to join one of our Nottingham-based Services teams.

We're looking for a seasoned Senior Software Developer in Test with a strong technical background in technologies such as Java, Cucumber, Gherkin, JUnit, RestAssured, and Gradle. Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, particularly AWS, is highly valued.

Our Senior Software Developers in Test are leaders who can inspire and motivate their teams, build strong relationships, and influence at all levels. They possess the ability to:

  • Shift testing to the left side of the software development cycle
  • Design and direct a testing strategy at the system level
  • Translate product requirements into effective testing scenarios

Key responsibilities

  • Be part of a self-organised Services Engineering team and deliver innovative automated testing solutions that drive business value
  • Convert product goals and vision into appropriate test approaches and scenarios
  • Question software code with a test approach that demonstrates all objectives have been met
  • Define and own the test approach for components and their integration at a system level
  • Be the interface between product management's acceptance criteria and the code written by engineers
  • Direct clear lineage from requirements to acceptance criteria to test scenarios to code
  • Innovate within the team, initiative area, and technical domain

Requirements

  • Excellent programming skills, with a strong focus on Java
  • Previous experience working with AWS or other cloud providers
  • Commitment to collaboration and communication
  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum practices
  • Drive to teach best practices and learn new techniques
