About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Assistant Psychologist to join our team at the Newbury Older Peoples Mental Health Service and Memory Clinic. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to older adults with mental health needs and dementia.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate and facilitate Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) groups for individuals with dementia, promoting social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
  2. Manage a large database of referrals, ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient information.
  3. Contribute to the development and implementation of audit and research projects, enhancing the quality of care and services.
  4. Provide training and support to other staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  5. Participate in regular clinical supervision, ensuring adherence to professional practice guidelines and Good Clinical Practice standards.
  6. Engage in ongoing training and professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and research in the field.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • An upper 2:1 undergraduate degree conferring eligibility for Graduate Basis of Registration with the British Psychological Society.
  • A passion and understanding for working with older adults and individuals with dementia.
  • Previous experience in a health or social care setting, working with people experiencing mental health difficulties.
  • A valid car driver's license and access to a vehicle for work, as this role involves visiting clients in the community.
