About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join our team at the Newbury Older Peoples Mental Health Service and Memory Clinic. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to older adults with mental health needs and dementia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinate and assist in the development and facilitation of Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) groups for individuals with dementia.
  • Complete brief assessments of clients to determine suitability for CST.
  • Manage a large database of referrals and conduct audits to ensure accurate and efficient service delivery.
  • Assist in psychological assessments, formulation, and intervention under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) and service/trust meetings as required.
  • Contribute to training and support of other staff members.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of audit/research projects.
  • Receive regular clinical supervision as per professional practice guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Participate in training and opportunities for continuing professional development.
  • Have a working knowledge of relevant research protocols, informed consent processes, legislation, HRA guidance, and the Mental Capacity Act.
