Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Charge Nurse to join our team. As a key member of the ward management team, you will be responsible for supporting the Charge Nurse in the delivery of high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall management of the ward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Development: Identify staff development needs through the appraisal process and provide education and support to staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Role Modeling: Demonstrate excellent leadership and role-modeling skills, setting a high standard of practice and behavior for all staff members.
- Clinical Standards: Monitor and manage clinical standards on the ward, ensuring that they are in line with Trust policies and procedures.
- Incident Reporting: Provide information as required, including notification of incidents and accidents to staff, patients, and visitors.
- Investigation and Escalation: Lead on the investigation of concerns related to poor clinical practice or staff management, escalating concerns when necessary.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration
- Experience in a senior nursing role, preferably in a ward management position
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
