Role Overview
The role of the Governance and Compliance Manager is suited to an individual with a clinical background in medicine, nursing, pharmacy or allied health (physiotherapist, occupational therapist etc). The role requires a dynamic individual capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and working with several regulators.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate corporate and legal compliance across the organisation.
- Support arrangements for governance and ensure that patient and staff safety remains paramount.
- Work alongside the Head of Governance and Leadership Team to ensure a modern approach to clinical standards, audit, and effectiveness.
- Lead the preparation of evidence relating to clinical effectiveness and audit for internal and external reports, reviews and inspections.
- Advise on relevant processes throughout the services.
- Support and lead in operations/governance projects.
- Support or lead in the management and development of policies and procedures.
- Support or lead change management.
- Schedule and minute meetings as required.
- Cascade governance-related information internally.
- Support with all aspects of governance and compliance across all teams.
- Service improvement and development.
- Deputise for the Head of Governance.
Requirements
- Education to degree level or qualified by demonstrable experience in a clinical area.
- Experience of regulatory requirements and compliance, legal interactions, procurement, insurance, and contracts.
- Able to investigate, manage and create actionable service improvement plans through incident/deviation management.
- Experience of creation and delivery of training programmes.
- The ability to research best practices and support implementation across teams.
- The ability to manage the operational aspect of the role regarding governance and compliance.
- The ability to learn and develop quickly.
- Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and a systematic thinker.
Desirable
- Holds or is willing to work towards a recognised qualification in Governance/Risk management.
