Job Title: British Sign Language Interpreter

We are seeking a highly skilled British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreter to join our team at LanguageLine Solutions. As a BSL Interpreter, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between deaf and hearing individuals in a variety of settings.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting in BSL and English, providing accurate and complete interpretations of verbal and non-verbal messages. You will work closely with our clients and their customers to ensure seamless communication and provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret in BSL and English, providing accurate and complete interpretations of verbal and non-verbal messages
  • Work closely with clients and their customers to ensure seamless communication
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive working relationship with colleagues and clients
  • Stay up-to-date with industry-specific terminology and protocol
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and improve interpreting skills
Requirements:
  • Registered Sign Language Interpreter (RSLI) with the National Register for Communications Professionals working with Deaf and Deaf blind people (NRCPD)
  • MA, Post Graduate Diploma, or NVQ Level 6 or equivalent in BSL/English Interpreting and Translating
  • Sufficient experience of public sector BSL interpreting
  • Competency in Microsoft Office
