Wood is currently recruiting for Senior and Principal Technical Environmental Engineers to join our Technical HSE Team based in our Reading office.

You will be a member of the Design HSE Group, within the Engineering Department, and will report to the Group Manager Design HSE. The department sits within the New Energies business of Wood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Chemical or Process Engineering
  • Be a member of a recognised professional institution
  • Have technical competence in core Environmental Engineering subject areas, notably; Emissions Quantification, Dispersion Modelling, Best Available Technology (BAT) Analysis, Risk Assessments, Working knowledge of applicable international standards
  • Have experience in the application of Environmental Engineering within a design setting likely to include the following: Oil and Gas, Petrochemical and Refining, LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), Carbon Capture/ Hydrogen Production
  • Exhibit analytical and conceptual thinking skills, ability to manage own work and the work of others, plus a strong customer focus and team-working skills
  • Be able to work to agreed delivery dates while collaborating with others in multifunctional teams.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Environmental Engineering or Sustainability
  • Experience of working in the process industry and energy, oil and gas, refining and petrochemical sectors
  • Leadership skills and experience
  • Commercial awareness
