Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Health and Safety Professional to join our team at Brogan Group. As a key member of our SHEQ team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project-specific risk assessments, method statements, rescue plans, and lifting plans to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of personal protective equipment (PPE), fire protection equipment (FPE), and respiratory protection equipment (RPE) to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Engage with employees to promote a culture of safety and well-being, and provide guidance on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Provide SHEQ compliance advice and guidance on applicable legislation and industry best practices to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Deliver inductions, training, and toolbox talks to employees to ensure they are aware of safety procedures and protocols.
  • Monitor, audit, and report on safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) performance for yard, logistics, and project operations.
  • Promote good practice relating to health, safety, environment, and quality management to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Support supply chain activities and raise SHEQ standards to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Assist in the investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents, and non-conformances, and make recommendations for corrective action.
  • Conduct statutory inspections, internal audits, site SHEQ inspections, and PAT testing to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of policies and procedures across the business to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working within the construction industry, particularly in areas such as working at height, scaffolding, construction hoists, mast climber work platforms, and plant.
  • Degree in Health & Safety accredited by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or one of the following qualifications: NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety, Professional Membership IOSH/ IEMA/ CQI.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in email, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as report writing skills.
  • Problem-solving, leadership, and effective communication skills.
  • Experience supporting a business contract and/or providing support to a professional function.
  • Typically 2 years of business experience.
