Central Buildings Asset Manager

As a vital member of our Technical Services team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our facilities are maintained to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will range from addressing maintenance issues to overseeing the replacement of essential items, all while providing exceptional service to our guests.

In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of skilled professionals dedicated to maintaining our central buildings and infrastructure. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring that all assets are kept in optimal condition through effective maintenance strategies.

You will foster a positive work environment that promotes team morale and motivation, while implementing performance management practices that encourage productivity and collaboration among team members.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling you to engage effectively with stakeholders who expect high-quality service. Your ability to influence and encourage teamwork will be key to achieving departmental goals.

This position requires participation in an on-call Duty Management rota, which may involve working evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

WORKING HOURS

You will be contracted to work 160 hours over a 4-week period on a flexible schedule. This means your workdays and hours may vary weekly, but you will always fulfill your contracted hours. Typical shifts are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5:30 pm, with additional weekend duty manager shifts as needed.

Given that our facilities operate year-round, your schedule will include weekends, public holidays, and holiday periods on a rotational basis.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Essential qualifications:

HNC in construction, engineering, or recognized Facilities Management credentials Demonstrated experience in managing diverse workloads, with strong planning and prioritization skills Proficiency in Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems Experience in overseeing service contracts within hard facilities management environments Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage administrative functions Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems Familiarity with Fire Safety Standards and Risk Management practices

Preferred qualifications:

NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety & Risk Management or equivalent Knowledge of procurement processes and contract management
