Position Overview: This role involves overseeing the logistics team to guarantee the effective, timely, and secure distribution of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the logistics team to ensure optimal delivery processes.
- Coordinate and manage the complete logistics workflow, including daily route optimization for multiple delivery vehicles.
- Enhance logistics operations, including fleet oversight and maintenance, to boost efficiency and minimize expenses.
- Ensure the upkeep, servicing, and repair of the vehicle fleet, maintaining compliance with all necessary regulations.
- Adhere to health and safety standards, company policies, and HR responsibilities within a bustling warehouse setting.
- Conduct driver training and manage incidents effectively.
- Promote a supportive and collaborative team atmosphere, providing necessary training and assistance.
- Step in for the Warehouse Team Leader when required.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in a logistics leadership role, showcasing a strong drive to enhance team performance.
- Possess excellent leadership and time management capabilities.
- Strong numerical and literacy skills, with proficiency in logistics software and inventory management systems.
- Flexibility to work varied hours to accommodate business requirements.
- Commitment to ensuring a safe and efficient logistics operation.
- A valid driving license is essential; HGV Class 2 and forklift operation experience are advantageous.
- Familiarity with pallet networks, express carriers, and third-party logistics management is preferred.
- Knowledge of import/export processes is a plus.
