We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Department Manager to lead our team at Sandman Hotel Group. As a key member of our hotel team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership and management, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail. You will be responsible for managing a team of housekeeping staff, ensuring that all rooms are cleaned and presented to the required standard, and that all maintenance issues are reported and completed.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading and managing the Housekeeping team to ensure high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction
  • Conducting regular room and public area inspections to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Monitoring and managing labour efficiencies and all other departmental costs
  • Ordering of departmental supplies and conducting monthly linen inventories
  • Accurately assessing the needs of the business in terms of staffing and staffing levels
  • Maintaining proper lost and found procedures
  • Assisting in the training of new team members
  • Ensuring Sandman Signature Hotels policies and procedures are followed

Preferred Education and Qualifications:

  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on leadership ability
  • Positive attitude, pleasant personality, and a strong ability to motivate, train, develop and guide a team
  • Knowledge of computers including MS Word, Excel and Internet
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards
  • Knowledge of laundry operations
  • Minimum 3 years housekeeping experience with a minimum of 2 years in a direct supervisory role
  • Prior hotel opening experience will be an asset
