Job Summary:

As a Shift Team Leader, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the plant, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and legislation, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental Permit conditions, minimizing the facility's environmental impact.
- Act as Operations Manager when required, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the plant.
- Maximize safe production in alignment with business strategy, optimizing plant output and performance.
- Manage the Safe System of Work as a Senior Authorized Person, including the formal release of Plant and/or Apparatus.
- Operate and monitor plant equipment and processes via control systems to maintain safe, efficient, and continuous operations.
- Guide Shift Plant Operators in regular plant walk-downs, asset adjustments, and inspections, recording information as per management system requirements.
- Support and coordinate minor reactive maintenance and process stoppages on-shift.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of operational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Supervise the testing and treatment of boiler, cooling, and other plant water systems.
- Manage fuel, process consumables, and residues, including sampling, storage, and logistics.
- Optimize plant output and performance to meet availability and production targets.
- Ensure the Health & Safety and welfare of your staff.
- Record all defects through the Maintenance Management System.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Department in coordinating planned and unplanned outages.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within an energy-from-waste facility or related industry.
- Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to operate and monitor plant equipment and processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
