Job Title: Safeguarding Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safeguarding Nurse to join our dynamic team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). As a Safeguarding Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people within our Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on safeguarding matters to healthcare professionals across the Trust. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver high-quality safeguarding training programs, ensuring that staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively address safeguarding issues.

You will also contribute to the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring that they are aligned with national and local guidelines. Additionally, you will participate in internal and external audits, assisting in the dissemination of learning from Rapid reviews and child safeguarding practice reviews (CSPRs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on safeguarding matters to healthcare professionals
  • Develop and deliver high-quality safeguarding training programs
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Participate in internal and external audits
Requirements
  • Registered 1st Level Nurse on the NMC register (Adult or Children)
  • Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge in safeguarding supplemented by specialist training
  • Recognised teaching/training qualification
  • Safeguarding supervision training/experience
