About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safeguarding Nurse to join our dynamic team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. As a Safeguarding Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people within our Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on safeguarding matters to healthcare professionals across the Trust.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality safeguarding training programs to staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to identify and respond to safeguarding concerns.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with national and local guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and address safeguarding concerns, ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
  • Support the safeguarding assurance process, contributing to internal and external audits, and assisting in the dissemination of learning from Rapid reviews and child safeguarding practice reviews.
Requirements
  • Registered 1st Level Nurse on the NMC register (Adult or Children).
  • Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge in safeguarding supplemented by specialist training.
  • Recognised teaching/training qualification.
  • Safeguarding supervision training/experience.
