Broking Manager Opportunity

Berkeley Insurance Group, part of Brown & Brown Europe, is seeking a skilled Broking Manager to join their team based in Leicester or Birmingham.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the negotiation and placement of various insurance classes, providing excellent service to clients, markets, and the wider Berkeley team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake broking activity on allocated cases, ensuring adherence to company procedures and placement strategy.
  • Maintain relationships with insurers at trading level.
  • Jointly market new business enquiries and defend cases under attack.
  • Attend client meetings to gather information for quotations.
  • Prepare market presentations and negotiate the best possible deals.
  • Assist in placing existing cases, including producing presentations and negotiating with insurers.
  • Act as a focal point for market information and provide assistance in placing business.
  • Recommend improvements to insurance programmes and highlight gaps in cover.
  • Deal with client issues and refer to the appropriate person when necessary.
Requirements:
  • A thorough knowledge of UK commercial insurance market practice and technical matters.
  • Strong team player with sophisticated negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Minimum of Cert CII.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Behaviour that inspires trust and respect.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and adopting new working practices.
  • Self-motivated and driven.
