About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Eating Disorder Specialist to join our team at Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our Eating Disorder Service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to individuals with complex eating disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Autonomous Practitioner: Act as an autonomous practitioner within the Eating Disorder Service, responsible for a clinical caseload using the Care Programme Approach.
  2. Service Development: Develop packages of care to meet highly specialized needs of the client group.
  3. Medical Implications: Have an excellent working knowledge of medical implications of eating disorders, ensuring good medical monitoring and interpretation of results.
  4. Supervision and Education: Supply specialist education, supervision, and support to clinical staff in Primary and Secondary Health settings.
  5. Standards and Outcomes: Participate in the monitoring of standards and outcomes within the Service.
  6. Clinical Advice: Advise Trust clinical staff, Primary care staff, and staff of voluntary agencies on clinical practices for Eating Disorders.
  7. Resource Person: Act as a resource person and give advice to generic general adult psychiatric services regarding ED interventions and services.
Requirements
  1. Post Qualification Experience: Extensive evidence of post-qualification experience, including community working experience.
  2. Qualifications: Formal postgraduate diploma level qualification in a relevant field such as CBT or Clinical Leadership, or equivalent knowledge gained through practice and a willingness to complete on-the-job training.
  3. Complex Caseload Management: Ability to manage and prioritize a complex caseload, demonstrating excellent risk assessment and management skills.
  4. Continuing Professional Development: Evidence of continuing professional development.
