We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Integrated Transport Manager to join our team at Central Bedfordshire Council. As a key member of our Traffic Management Service, you will play a crucial role in delivering our Highways Service and managing the Integrated Transport Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head of Traffic Management in delivering the Highways Service and managing the Integrated Transport Team.
  • Develop and implement traffic calming, accessibility, and road safety schemes, as well as associated traffic regulation orders.
  • Assess the impact of traffic on the network using a data-led approach.
  • Investigate requests for new highway infrastructure, such as traffic signs and road markings, pedestrian crossings, and other low-cost highway improvements.
  • Collaborate with Senior Officers, elected members, and other Council teams to ensure that the management and improvement of the network support Council priorities and policy documents.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally with a traffic engineering/management background.
  • Significant in-depth knowledge of highway and traffic legislation and regulations, including the Highways Act, the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions, and the Traffic Management Act.
  • Ability to analyze statistical data, write policy and strategy documents, and complete tasks in a complex environment.
  • Strong communication skills and an organized, team-focused approach.
