About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team in Sittingbourne. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for planning and executing routine E&I preventative maintenance, collaborating with colleagues across engineering departments, and taking the lead in the planning and execution of work plan packs and schedules to maintain maximum efficiency of assets.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Manufacturing experience as a Lead or Senior Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineer
  • Time served with recognised qualifications
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing/engineering
  • Established understanding in core Electrical principles and infrastructure
  • Understanding of Automation, Control and Instrumentation together with experience in Variable speed drives
  • Understanding of relevant Electrical and Automation standards
Responsibilities

As a Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring a safe working environment is being maintained at all times, complying with all company safety procedures and legislation.
  • Complying with the site's Environmental Management System to reduce potential hazards in the working environment, ensure safety of employees, and ensure efficient use of materials to reduce our environmental impact.
  • Participate/lead company investigations including root cause analysis, creation of risk assessments, SSOW (Safe Systems of Work) and developing maintenance procedures as required.
  • Planning maintenance work in line with Company policies, focusing on method statements, risk assessments, isolation requirements, parts lists, manuals and drawings.
  • Working with Production Planning and Management to create optimal maintenance and shutdown schedules, before communicating these to relevant teams.
