Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a qualified Senior Clinical Psychologist to join the Stroke Service within our esteemed organization. This role is available at Band 8a / 8b, contingent upon the candidate's expertise and experience.

The successful candidate will become a vital member of a collaborative and well-established multi-disciplinary team, dedicated to delivering comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations and interventions.

The Stroke Service operates with a commitment to excellence, providing support to both the Inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation Unit and the Early Supported Discharge (ESD) Community service. We seek individuals who possess a genuine passion for working with this client demographic, alongside relevant skills and experience. Proficiency in neuropsychological and psychological assessment, as well as intervention strategies tailored to clients, their families, and caregivers, is essential. Flexible working hours may be available.

Key Responsibilities

The Stroke Rehabilitation Service is dedicated to providing thorough assessments and support for stroke survivors and their caregivers. The psychologist's responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological assessments for service users.
  • Offering appropriate support and interventions for caregivers.
  • Collaborating with a diverse MDT, providing consultancy, supervision, and clinical leadership.
  • Leading and mentoring an assistant psychologist.
  • Engaging in service evaluation and development initiatives.

The successful candidate will join a supportive network of psychologists across various levels within the organization, focusing on the needs of older adults. For those at Band 8a, there will be opportunities for training and professional development to meet the necessary qualifications.
