Position Overview

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a dedicated and forward-thinking Clinical Ward Leader within Ramsay Health Care UK Operations Limited. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional care and services to elective surgical patients across various surgical specialties, including Urology, Gynaecology, Colorectal, Orthopaedic, ENT, General Surgery, Cosmetics, and Plastics, as well as some Medical patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibit exemplary clinical practice consistently and take responsibility for personal actions.
  • Serve as the Clinical Shift Leader for the Wards.
  • Oversee critical Quality Governance areas to ensure the provision of safe and effective care, including Infection Prevention, Clinical Effectiveness, and Audit.
  • Identify and implement best practices in Ward Care and Service Delivery, adhering to NICE Guidance and NCEPOD standards.
  • Manage workloads effectively and direct staff as necessary.
  • Utilize available resources efficiently, considering budgetary limitations and organizational goals.
  • Assess, plan, and evaluate care tailored to the unique needs of patients and their families.
  • Encourage multidisciplinary teamwork to enhance service delivery, collaborating with Consultants, Allied Health Professionals, Registered Medical Officers, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and Administrative Staff.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Conduct clinical audits and quality assessments to evaluate care delivery.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance clinical skills and care delivery to meet the expectations of service users.
  • Perform risk assessments and manage safety protocols to maintain a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for junior staff, fostering a learning environment and addressing training needs.
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in optimal working condition to meet departmental requirements.
  • Assist the Ward Manager in maintaining precise patient records and staff competencies.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong clinical background in surgical nursing.
  • Proficient in computing skills.
  • Completion of SLIP course or equivalent.
  • NMC- Registered General Nurse.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
