Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Coordinator to join our team at Essex County Council. As a key member of our Children and Families service, you will play a vital role in ensuring that children and young people receive the support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist mental health assessments and treatment services for children, young people, and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to offer advice, support, and consultation on social work issues and perspectives.
  • Develop and deliver innovative ways of working, projects, and groups to engage children, young people, and their families in partnership with other professionals.
  • Raise awareness of children and young people's mental health issues and preventative strategies across the service.
  • Maintain accurate records of activity on case files and produce reports as required.

Requirements

  • Accredited degree or diploma-level professional qualification in a relevant field, such as social work, mental health nursing, or occupational therapy.
  • Significant experience of working in a therapeutic intervention model with children and families.
  • Strong partnership working skills and ability to build collaborative relationships with other professionals.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of vulnerability and safeguarding protocols.
  • Ability to travel throughout the county and beyond, with a driving license and access to a vehicle.
