Central Alliance, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our dynamic team in Wakefield, UK.

About the Role:

We are looking for a talented individual to support our Geo division in delivering exceptional services to our clients. As a Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting with the supervision of ground investigation works, traveling throughout the UK, and attending internal and industry-recognized training courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the supervision of ground investigation works, including mentoring and shadowing.
  • Travel throughout the UK, with approximately 80% of time spent working away from home and 20% spent in the Wakefield office.
  • Attend and pass internal and industry-recognized external training courses, such as PTS, NRASWA, CCNSG, CAT, First Aid, and manual handling training.
  • Log soil and rock in accordance with BS5930:2020.
  • Install and monitor a range of instrumentation, including gas and groundwater, inclinometer, vibrating wire piezometer (VWP), magnetic extensometers, water level divers, across various projects.
  • Undertake gas and groundwater sampling.
  • Support the Geo, Survey, and Applied Technologies departments with site-based projects, as required.
  • Timely data management, processing, and reporting.
  • Assist with the maintenance and organization of the yard, including arranging, sorting, picking, and delivering soil samples.
  • Oversee monitoring equipment hiring, off-hiring, maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
  • Adhere to all RSK company policies and client policies and procedures when on site.
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge, such as British Standards and industry standards, with the support of the company.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate with a BSc in Geology, Geography, Earth Sciences, or a related field. You should have the ability to follow instructions, work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and work independently using your own initiative. A commitment to safety and improving ways of working is essential. You should be self-motivated, solutions-focused, organized, and have effective time management skills. Familiarity with data management tools and reporting software is also required.
