Role Overview: As a Surgical Services Practitioner, you will be responsible for fulfilling various roles within the operating department, including scrub, circulating, anaesthetic, and post-anaesthetic care unit (PACU) duties, all while adhering to your professional scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment after each use and between surgical cases, ensuring proper disposal of clinical and other waste in line with established policies.
- Deliver and uphold high standards of nursing care, promptly reporting any discrepancies to the team leader.
- Manage stock levels effectively, demonstrating awareness of the importance of cost-efficiency in stock monitoring.
- Engage in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of tailored care programs for patients.
- Identify changes in patient conditions that necessitate further intervention and refer to appropriate personnel as needed.
- Serve as a Link Practitioner within a designated specialty or area of interest.
- Assist in the safe transfer of patients within the department, ensuring correct positioning in accordance with local manual handling protocols.
