Position Title: Senior ETF Product Strategist, Assistant Vice President, State Street Global Advisors

Reporting To: Head of EMEA Product Development

Department: EMEA Product

Location: London / Dublin

The Senior ETF Product Strategist will be an integral part of the EMEA Product team, focusing on the innovation and management of SSGA's EMEA ETFs. This role encompasses the research, design, and development of new active and index ETFs that align with SSGA's diverse investment capabilities. The EMEA Product team operates within SSGA's Global Product framework, collaborating closely with the Client Coverage Group and Global Investment team to create and deliver cutting-edge products and solutions tailored to our clients' needs across various asset classes and investment strategies, including sustainable investing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and launch new EMEA-domiciled ETFs to cater to SSGA's institutional and intermediary clients, aligning with the overall strategic objectives of the firm.
  • Contribute to the execution of SSGA's EMEA product roadmap while providing valuable insights for the global product strategy, particularly in sustainable investing.
  • Implement product strategies, create business cases, design product features, and coordinate product launches, working collaboratively across departments to enhance SSGA's EMEA product offerings.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and potential new product opportunities, ensuring a competitive edge in the marketplace.
  • Assess the needs of SSGA's EMEA institutional and intermediary clients, identifying market opportunities and aligning them with SSGA's investment capabilities.
  • Oversee the complete product lifecycle of existing funds, including pricing, positioning, and operational models, ensuring they remain competitive and market-leading.
  • Foster strong relationships and collaborate effectively with the Global Product team and key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage in the implementation of EU/UK regulations affecting SSGA's EMEA product range.
  • Generate and present key management reports to support robust governance processes and accountability within the Product team.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in product development, design, or as a product/investment strategist with a proven track record of successful outcomes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the European regulatory framework concerning asset management and funds, including MiFID, UCITS, AIFMD, BMR, and SFDR.
  • Expertise in sustainable investing, encompassing investment strategies, regulatory considerations, and client demand.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the product development lifecycle: research, strategy formulation, structuring, launch coordination, and ongoing management.
  • Ability to manage complex projects involving stakeholders across various teams and regions.
  • Strong analytical skills to research and interpret market trends and intelligence to inform product strategy and design, including experience with third-party databases.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, with a knack for identifying issues, exploring alternatives, and recommending effective solutions.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, with a collaborative approach across all organizational levels.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly and succinctly to diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools such as Morningstar, Bloomberg, Factset, and Lipper.
