Position Overview

The Lead Programme Manager will assume comprehensive responsibility for the execution of programs related to the Foundation's educational, skills, and learning grants, along with other programmatic sectors as necessary. This role involves collaboration across Lloyd's Register Foundation to fulfill our charitable mission of enhancing safety and promoting education. Reporting directly to the Director of Skills and Education, the Lead Programme Manager will spearhead stakeholder engagement and oversee the entire lifecycle of grants, from conception to impact assessment, working alongside various internal departments including Grants, Communications, Heritage, and Evidence and Insight teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver extensive portfolios of the Foundation's charitable initiatives, particularly focusing on skills and education
  • Collaborate internally and externally to execute grants and charitable projects that align with the Foundation's mission
  • Establish and nurture strong partnerships with a diverse range of external stakeholders, including grant delivery organizations, industry representatives, NGOs, IGOs, policy-making entities, and research institutions
  • Partner with stakeholders to promote the Foundation's vision for skills and education in targeted areas
  • Lead the proposal development process with assistance from Foundation Directors as needed
  • Facilitate the complete grant-making process, from ideation to closure and impact evaluation
  • Identify and pursue opportunities arising from grants and direct charitable activities, fostering collaborations with other funding bodies
  • Collaborate across the Foundation's teams to provide expertise and insights on funding programs
  • Represent the Foundation in external engagements, articulating its purpose, strategy, activities, and impact
  • Conduct operations in accordance with sound governance practices and internal protocols, including relevant management of personnel and budgets

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience and understanding of global engineering or technical skills, training, and development
  • Proven experience in managing skills and education grants and/or projects, preferably within a research, charitable, or innovation context
  • Strong analytical capabilities, exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent time management
  • Demonstrated expertise in applying principles, methodologies, techniques, and tools for effective program and project lifecycle management
  • Proven experience and/or training in project, program, or portfolio management
  • Experience working in international partnerships is desirable
