About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and engaging Account Assistant to join our dynamic team at Hart Shoreditch Hotel London, Curio Collection by Hilton. This position is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly accounting functions to maintain accurate records for Accounts Payable, Income Audit, and Cashiering tasks.
  • Conduct audits of daily revenue summaries for Rooms, Food, and Beverage, ensuring accuracy in the Night Audit Process.
  • Account for all incidental revenues generated within the hotel.
  • Record all Meeting Rooms revenue accurately at the end of each day.
  • Prepare and submit reports on cashiers' shortages or overages to the Financial Controller for necessary actions.
  • Review paid-outs and allowance vouchers for appropriateness and ensure proper documentation is in place.
  • Verify rebates and allowances for approval by the Controller and General Manager.
  • Perform spot checks on room rates and pricing accuracy.
  • Verify documentation for complimentary rooms and rate variance reports.
  • Cross-check room maid reports against room clerks' reports to identify discrepancies and prepare variance reports.
  • Manage open and dummy folios daily to ensure accuracy.
  • Review all house use and entertainment checks for proper signatures.
  • Monitor guest ledger balances daily and investigate any unusual transactions.
  • Investigate late charges and discrepancies, forwarding details to the Credit Manager for further action.
  • Conduct surprise cash counts of cashier floats and other financial floats.
  • Maintain organized files of all audit records for easy access.
  • Assist in preparing worksheets for review meetings as requested by management.
  • Collect and organize delivery notes for miscellaneous items.
  • Ensure goods are issued and received accurately according to unit measures.
  • Report any price discrepancies to the Purchasing department.
  • Close purchase orders in the system accurately.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures consistently.
  • Assist the Controller in preparing worksheets and reports for review meetings.
  • Support the preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations and month-end reports.

  • Previous experience in finance is essential.
