About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Diabetic Eye Screener to join our team at NECSWS. As a key member of our retinal screening program, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with diabetes receive timely and accurate eye care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run local clinics to see service users and photograph their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy
  • Provide empathetic and patient-centered care, discussing health and eye images with individuals on a daily basis
  • Work independently in a sometimes pressured environment, requiring a cool head and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Support the delivery of an exceptional service, prioritizing customer needs and ensuring high-quality care
Requirements
  • Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn and complete necessary qualifications
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks, managing multiple responsibilities
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Previous experience working with the public is ideal, but not required
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including grades A-C in English, Maths, and a Science subject or equivalent
