About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team at Lea Vale Medical Group. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clinical and administrative teams in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage blood results and ensure timely follow-up with patients
- Order necessary tests and arrange patient reviews
- Provide phlebotomy services as needed
- Perform routine diagnostic tasks, including ECGs, blood pressure checks, and urinalysis
- Use patient interactions as opportunities to promote health education and lifestyle changes
- Ensure patients are followed up if they do not attend appointments
Requirements
- Experience working in a healthcare setting
- Experience working with the general public
- ECGs and new patient medicals, including height, weight, BP, and pulse
- Ability to record accurate clinical notes
Desirable Qualifications
- Healthcare qualification (level 3 or 4) or working towards gaining equivalent level
- Phlebotomy certification
- GP Assistant Certificate qualification or working towards the qualification
