Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Glasgow

Salary: £38,961 plus overtime (earning potential £44,000)

Shift Pattern: 4 on – 4 off covering days and nights

Marley is committed to innovation and process enhancement. They rely on their engineering team to identify and implement improvements. In this context, they are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to contribute to the maintenance excellence at their Glasgow facility.

The Glasgow site serves a wide area, including Scotland and the North of England, presenting a unique opportunity to introduce innovative solutions and make a significant impact on operations while facilitating career growth.

Role Overview:

  • Collaborate with a skilled engineering team to ensure uninterrupted production by effectively managing fault diagnosis and equipment upkeep.

Your role will encompass a variety of engineering responsibilities, focusing on preventive measures to mitigate equipment failures. Key tasks will involve working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, as well as executing planned and reactive maintenance activities on-site.

With a 39-hour work week in a 4 on 4 off rotation, you will enjoy a balanced work-life schedule, along with opportunities for overtime to boost your earnings.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles
  • Apprentice-trained Mechanical Engineer with NVQ Level 3 certification
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics is preferred
  • Familiarity with fabrication and welding techniques is advantageous
  • Team-oriented with a strong attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of current environmental, health, and safety regulations
  • Proficient in mechanical fault diagnosis, defect correction, and routine maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
