Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Marshalls PLC in Glasgow. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous running of our production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.
  • Carry out a variety of engineering tasks, including planned and reactive maintenance activities, to prevent equipment failure and ensure optimal performance.
  • Work on various types of equipment, including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, to identify and rectify faults.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Good working knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
  • Apprentice-trained Mechanical Engineer to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics, with a strong understanding of fabrication and welding techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues, with knowledge of regulatory requirements.
