Senior Children's Support Worker Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Children's Support Worker to join our team in Chudleigh Knighton, Newton Abbot. As a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with learning/physical disabilities, complex health needs, autism, and challenging behaviors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support young people between the ages of 8-18 years old with their daily needs and activities
  • Work closely with the management team to ensure the quality of services provided meets expected care standards
  • Manage staff teams and budgets, ensuring the homely and friendly culture of the homes is maintained
  • Deal with challenging behaviors safely and sympathetically
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Support the children and young people in the home, promoting their independence and well-being
  • Ensure the safety of the young people and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of their care plans, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred methods of communication
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or Team Leader within a similar social care setting or with Young People
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People or equivalent
  • Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence, due to the nature of the role you may be required to transport the young people
  • Children's Homes Regulations and Safeguarding Knowledge
