Job Role

As a Children and Young People's Support Worker, you will work closely with children in care, putting them at the centre of everything you do. Your day-to-day role will involve supporting them in all aspects of their lives, including educational pursuits, hobbies, and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support, safeguard, and promote the wellbeing of children and young people
  • Assist with daily routines, including working in the community and/or educational settings
  • Organise and facilitate social activities
  • Transportation
  • Work alongside a multi-disciplinary team to implement safe practice
  • Offer high levels of supervision and support
  • Work in line with Ofsted guidelines
  • Manage complex behaviours and crisis intervention
  • Contribute to the young person's care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience working within a child and/or young adult setting
  • All candidates must be over the age of 21 to meet industry regulations
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Knowledge in one of the following areas: EBD, SEMH, CSE, and SEND
  • A good standard of English and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Desirable: Diploma 3/4 qualification in Health and Social Care/Residential Care
  • An enhanced DBS, which can be applied for upon registration (cost of which £45.40, refunded after a set period of work)
