Position Overview

The role involves researching, providing, and analyzing data that informs Category Sourcing Strategies and tactical procurement arrangements. This includes managing spend data, market intelligence, supplier and supply chain information, product details, service data, and industry trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an estimating database to forecast future spending patterns and opportunities.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process flow for individual components.
  • Conduct research, monitor, and forecast costs associated with materials, transportation, labor, and equipment across various geographic regions.
  • Build and sustain relationships with suppliers to ensure a robust level of market intelligence.
  • Assist procurement specialists in evaluating supplier and contractor quotes within designated timelines.
  • Evaluate the risk factors associated with projects.
  • Support bidding processes for new contracts and aid procurement activities.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering and/or the Aerospace industry.
  • A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or Physics.
  • Strong interest or proficiency in global economic trends.
  • Excellent analytical and forecasting capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret Aerospace engineering drawings and generate cost estimates.
  • Skilled in data analysis, modeling, and interpretation.
  • High mathematical aptitude.
  • Capacity to work under pressure to achieve objectives, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, databases, and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • A systematic and logical approach to tasks.
  • Ability to organize work and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with SAP.
  • Familiarity with Category Management.
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles.
  • Experience in Stakeholder Management.

Travel Expectations

  • Occasional regional travel may be required.
