We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Perioperative Care Coordinator to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a key member of our perioperative care department, you will play a vital role in supporting the surgical pre-assessment and perioperative medicine teams.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate patients through their pre-operative journey, ensuring seamless communication and efficient workflow.
- Provide administrative support to the perioperative care team, including booking appointments, scanning documents, and making telephone calls.
- Support the training of new starters in the department and provide guidance on administrative procedures.
- Line manage several perioperative care administrators, conducting appraisals and sickness reviews.
- Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and support the project manager in administrative developments.
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience, with a good knowledge of administrative work procedures.
- GCSE (or equivalent) standard in English and Maths.
- Experience of administration in a customer-focused environment.
- Ability to compose correspondence from fragmented instructions.
- Experience of dealing with non-routine and complex problems, progress chasing, resource and staff allocation.
- Previous experience of working in an acute hospital setting.
- Competent in the use of ESR and Healthroster.
- Supervisory or office management experience.
