We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Delivery Manager - Mechanical to join our team at Vulcain Engineering - UK. This is an exciting opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).

Job Summary

The successful candidate will assist in tactical logistics planning for individual works sections in support of the work completed on strategic logistics. They will be responsible for the detailed planning and implementation, in collaboration with the rest of the HPC Delivery Team and Senior Construction Delivery Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the contract partners in their delivery of the works packages to enable efficient delivery of their sections of works.
  • Recommend temporary measures to mitigate against safety and/or quality concerns.
  • Monitor works on site and input into the construction daily report to ensure information is reported up through the organisation to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager and escalate any issues/concerns via detailed reports.
  • Proactively communicate/co-ordinate with other site teams (H&S, contract, project controls, logistics) and Construction Delivery Managers to maintain good communication links, and ensure activity is well and timely reported.
  • Attend PLOD/PLOW meetings with the contractor, ensure outputs are recorded and issued to the Undertake safety and/or assurance inspections that support the project HSPI's.
  • Ensure clear, two-way communication with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager so that all activity and issues are directed appropriately.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience and knowledge of construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation.
  • Working knowledge in the delivery of projects.
  • Ability to write informative, concise and meaningful reports.
  • Motivate and energise contract partners by building a climate of trust and understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinions.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
  • SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
  • Collaborate with other managers to effectively manage operations of the site.
  • Adopt a results-focussed mind set, using initiative wherever possible and taking personal responsibility and accountability to ensure necessary action is taken to deliver excellence, value and quality.
