About the Role

Vulcain Engineering - UK is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Construction Delivery Manager to join our team in the South West of England. As a key member of our Technical Communities, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our mega-infrastructure projects, including the Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C.

Key Responsibilities
  • Logistics Planning: Assist in tactical logistics planning for individual works sections to ensure efficient delivery of works packages.
  • Project Implementation: Collaborate with the HPC Delivery Team and Senior Construction Delivery Manager to plan and implement construction activities.
  • Site Monitoring: Monitor works on site and input into the construction daily report to ensure information is reported up through the organisation.
  • Communication: Proactively communicate and coordinate with other site teams, including H&S, contract, project controls, and logistics, to maintain good communication links and ensure activity is well and timely reported.
  • Inspections and Reporting: Attend PLOD/PLOW meetings with the contractor, ensure outputs are recorded and issued, and undertake safety and/or assurance inspections to support the project HSPI's.
  • Senior Stakeholder Management: Ensure clear, two-way communication with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager to direct all activity and issues appropriately.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience and knowledge of construction sequencing, recovery plans, and resource allocation.
  • CDM Regulations: Good understanding of the post holder's obligations under CDM Regulations.
  • Project Delivery: Working knowledge in the delivery of projects.
  • Reporting: Ability to write informative, concise, and meaningful reports.
  • Leadership: Motivate and energise contract partners by building a climate of trust and understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinions.
  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
  • SMSTS or IOSH: SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with other managers to effectively manage operations of the site.
  • Results-Focused: Adopt a results-focussed mind set, using initiative wherever possible and taking personal responsibility and accountability to ensure necessary action is taken to deliver excellence, value, and quality.
  • Pressure Management: Ability to work under pressure.
  • Multiple Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
Desirable
  • High Security Environment: Experience of operating in a high security environment advantageous.
  • Nuclear Environment: Experience within the Nuclear environment is advantageous but can be off-set by experience within large Civil Engineering/Building/MEH projects.
