About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Gardener to join our team at Cliveden, a 375-acre estate with a rich history and stunning gardens. As a Senior Gardener, you will play a key role in maintaining the gardens and plant collection, leading by example and inspiring others to follow your exceptional gardening skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the gardening team and manage their daily workload
  • Provide inspiring and practical training to new staff and volunteers
  • Supervise the day-to-day management of the garden and keep it in tiptop condition
  • Build positive working relationships across the site and engage with visitors, sharing the garden's story and answering their questions

Requirements

  • Combination of practical experience in horticulture and relevant qualifications
  • Experience in supervising others in a similar role
  • High knowledge of plants and ability to use and maintain garden machinery
  • Awareness of relevant health and safety legislation and practices
