About the Role:

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to provide essential support, compassion, and empowerment to individuals with mental health challenges.

The ideal candidate will work closely with students on a one-on-one basis, providing tailored support to meet their unique mental health needs.

Collaboration with teachers and school staff is crucial to implement strategies that promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The successful candidate will be a calming presence during challenging situations, offering immediate support and helping students navigate difficult emotions.

Maintaining open communication with parents is essential, providing updates on students' progress and collaborating on strategies for continued support at home.

The role involves working in classrooms, supporting Teachers and fellow Teaching Assistants.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counselling, or a related field
  • Experience working with children in a mental health or educational setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Compassion and empathy for the well-being of children
  • Experience working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
